As best as Sara Phoenix can remember, her first experience of live theater involved "The Sound of Music."

"It was in 1986, and my parents took us to Theatre Tulsa, which was doing 'The Sound of Music,'" Phoenix said. "And the funny thing is I remember these green-on-green checkered platforms that were moved about to make everything from the von Trapp family mansion to the hills they had to climb."
