Pre-teen Laughing Matter Improv

Taught by Erin Scarberry

A chance for pre-teens to learn new skills, perform scenes and improv games, and learn basic performance skills.

Saturdays, September 12-December 12 (no class Oct 31 or Nov 28), 10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.

Cost is $50. Ages 8-12. 

 

Creative Dramatics

Taught by John Cruncleton III

This course is designed to introduce pre-teen students to collaborative performance. Led by the instructor, students will work together to create an all original production. The students’ creation will have a public performance on the final day of class. Regular attendance is strongly encouraged.

Saturdays, September 12-December 12 (no class Oct 31 or Nov 28), 11:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. 

Cost is $50. Ages 8-12.

 

Teen Laughing Matter Improv

This class teaches comic improv games as a way to increase creativity, teamwork and performance skills.  There will be at least two public performances held during the semester.

Viral Marketing

Taught by John Cruncleton III

Students interested in taking a more active role in the promotion of Clark Youth Theatre are invited to join this exciting new class! Students will collaborate on the writing and execution of

 

commercials, short films, and photography, and all materials created during the semester will be used by Clark Youth Theatre for television, print and web promotion.

Saturdays, September 12-December 12 (no class Oct 31 or Nov 28), 10:30a.m.-11:30a.m. Cost is $40. Ages 13-18.

 

Clark Youth Theatre Halloween Event: Clark in the Dark  

Are you interested in taking an active role in Clark’s Haunted House production? Students will rehearse and perform as well as build props and decorations for the production.

Performances are October 26-31 at Henthorne PAC.

Saturdays, September 12-October 31, 1:30 p.m.-3:00 p.m. Cost: Free. Ages 8-18.

 

Clark Conservatory  

Clark Conservatory will offer students a more complete acting training, anchored in the belief that growth as an actor and growth as a human being are synonymous. Students will gain tools and techniques to better engage their imagination, analyze text deeply and accurately, and to create rich, specific characters. The Conservatory will offer a variety of special programs each season and will be facilitated by award-winning, degreed professionals from the Tulsa community.  

Students who demonstrate a strong desire and commitment to the arts programs at Clark Youth Theatre are invited to audition for Much Ado About Nothing, the first production to be produced by Clark Conservatory. Auditions will take place Saturday, November 7th at 2:00 p.m. Once cast, membership in Clark Conservatory covers one full season and all Conservatory programs scheduled that year.

Saturdays, November 7- December 12 (no class Nov 28; class resumes in January), 2:00 p.m.-3:30pm. Cost: $100. Ages 12-18.

Airbrush Makeup

Taught By Sara Cruncleton  

Airbrush makeup is a popular trend in fashion and film, and Clark is proud to offer this workshop from Sara Cruncleton, Spa Director of Ihloff Salon & Day Spa and Owner/Operator of Nightingale Theatre. Sara has over a decade of experience working with print models as well as directing the Ihloff Fall Fashion show, Tulsa’s largest fashion event. Sara’s workshop will offer basic techniques for day wear, high fashion, stage and film.

Flash Mob!

Taught By John Cruncleton III 

Have you ever wanted to participate in a Flash Mob? This workshop is for you! Week 1 will be spent rehearsing, and Week 2 will be a public performance, coinciding with the opening weekend of Clark’s first show of the season, the musical Catch Me If You Can.  

Saturdays, September 19 & 26, 1:30 p.m.-3:00 p.m. Cost is $25. Ages 8-18.

 

Auditions Workshop

Taught by Mark Frank        

Clark Youth Theatre is excited to offer this unique opportunity with Mark Frank, Coordinator of Theatre at TCC and Artistic Director of Tulsa Children’s Summer Theatre. This workshop will prepare students for professional style theatre or film auditions. Learn tips and tricks to make you more successful in front of casting directors! The workshop will also include a review of each student’s headshots and resumes.

Saturday, October 3, 1:30 p.m.-3:00 p.m. Cost is $25. Ages 8-18.

 

Prosthetics Makeup Workshop

Taught by Sara Cruncleton

Sara Cruncleton returns to teach the basics of building prosthetic makeup effects using latex, foams, and other plastics.  These techniques are useful for old-age wrinkling effects, built-up chins, noses, cheeks, brows, scars, wounds, squib-masking, protective layering, trauma effects, and much more, ranging from practical to cringe worthy.  Just in time for Halloween!

Stage Management Workshop

Taught by Melissa Sparks        

Learn what it takes to be a stage manager from the best one in Tulsa, Melissa Sparks. As general manager of Clark Youth Theatre and Company Stage Manager for Theatre Tulsa, Melissa has trained many of the stage managers currently working in the Tulsa community.

Saturday, October 17, 1:30 p.m.-3:00 p.m. Cost is $25. Ages 8-18.

 

Tech Certification

Taught by John Cruncleton III        

With more performance dates at the Henthorne PAC, we need more qualified people to work the tech booth, both for Clark shows and outside groups that may rent the space in the future. Taking this 2 week workshop qualifies the graduate to work either lights or sound at the HPAC. There will be an official certification list of everyone who is allowed to work the booth.

Saturdays, November 7 & 14, 1:30 p.m.-3:00 p.m. Cost is $25. Ages 8-18.

 

Vocal Master Class

Taught by Jeremy Stevens       

Clark Youth Theatre offers our first Vocal Master Class with Jeremy Stevens! This is a fantastic opportunity for students who want individualized work with a vocal instructor, and Jeremy is one of the best in Tulsa. As the resident music director of Theatre Tulsa, Jeremy has extensive experience at the casting table and can share tips and tricks of the trade to improve your vocal auditions. Students will need to bring one song to class and will receive 30 minutes of one-on-one instruction. Enrollment is limited to 6; 3 students per class.    

Saturdays, December 7 & 12, 2:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m. Cost is $30. Ages 8-18.

The class culminates in a final presentation that demonstrates the performance skills and talents of the students. Class enrollment is limited to 18. Students can register for either

Teen Home School Drama

Private Lessons

 

Clark Youth Theatre now offers private lessons in acting, singing and dancing. All experience levels are welcome, and we have a variety of instructors available.
